Find out why everyone wants to get on Harmony of the Seas…

If you’re a keen cruise enthusiast then it’s likely that you’ve heard lots about the eagerly anticipated Harmony of the Seas from Royal Caribbean which is set for launch this year.

As we write this, some 3,000 skilled engineers and builders are working away to ensure that this floating resort is ready for it’s maiden voyage that departs on the 20th May.

Currently the Harmony of the Seas is in the SFX Ship Yard in Saint-Nazaire. It’s the fourth Oasis Class cruise ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet and like Oasis of the Seas it also features the theme of 7 identifiable neighbourhoods; Central Park, the Boardwalk, Entertainment Place, Royal Promenade, Kid’s Avenue, the H2O Zone, Fitness Centre and Vitality Sea Spa.

Here’s a quick guide to what you’ll find in each neighbourhood:

Central Park – Around this neighbourhood you can find plenty of upscale dining venues including Jamie’s Italian, Chops Grille, Vintages Wine Bar, 150 Central Park and the Trellis Bar.

The Boardwalk – Featuring a kind of Coney Island ambience, the Boardwalk features a fairground carousel, hot dog house, arcade with classic games, Johnny Rockets diner, Starbucks and the Sabor Taqueria and Tequila House.

Entertainment Place – The Attic Comedy Club, Jazz on 4, the Diamond Club, Royal Theatre, Studio B, Art Gallery and Casino.

Royal Promenade – Boot and Bonnet Pub, Sorrentos Bar, Bionic Bar, Rising Tide Bar, Shopping  and the On Air Club.

Kid’s Avenue – Adventure Ocean Youth Programme (ages 3-17), Workshop, Nursery, Adventure Art, Aquanauts, Explorers, Voyagers, Adventure Science and Theatre.

The H2O Zone – FlowRider, Ultimate Abyss, Hot Tubs, Water Fountains, Splash Pools and Swimming Pools.

Fitness Centre and Vitality Sea Spa – Yoga and Pilates, Beach Bootcamp, Running Track, Technogym exercise equipment, spa treatments using Elemis, salon treatments for nails, hair and teeth.

As well as bringing back some of the most-loved Royal Caribbean features like FlowRider and Wonderland Restaurant, there will also be some exciting new additions including to the Harmony including The Ultimate Abyss which is a 10-storey slide which loops and swirls as it takes you from the Lido deck all the way down to Central Park level.
